| A writer since the age of four, Ann Finstad received a BA in English-Writing from Illinois Wesleyan University. She serves as proof that one can watch 43 hours of TV a week and still graduate from a good university and find a paying job. Although born and bred in Chicago, a short post-college move proved she is a southern girl at heart. She plans a return to Austin, Texas, this summer. In addition to Lumino, she writes short stories and works as a children's library assistant in the Chicago suburbs. This month, Ann wrote about Austin, American Splendor, Internet dating and Greg Pitts of "Office Space." |
Barry Brecheisen is a Chicago--based photographer specializing in music. Since 1997, he's become well-known for action shots in as senior photographer and photo editor of RollingStone.com. Barry is photo editor of Columbia College's Gravity magazine. He's a regular contributor to Rolling Stone magazine as well as MTV and the Chicago Tribune. His clients have included the Jenny Jones Show, the House of Blues, eBay, Playboy, UCLA and Wendy's. This month, Barry reviewed and shot Simple Plan and MXPX concert and shot the Blue Man Group. |

Adam C. Kotlarczyk is an instructor of composition and a graduate student at Northern Illinois University. His fiction writing earned the Leah M. Trelease Award from the University of Illinois and the Towers Award for Creative Nonfiction from NIU. Adam likes postmodern American fiction, short fiction, and film/literature adaptation. This month, Adam created Lumino's ADAM ratings system, reviewed Cold Mountain and broke down movie awards shows.

Lukas Szymanek is 21 years old and moved to Chicago from Poland in 1998. He is attending Columbia College, majoring in magazines, and working a "crappy" job (language interpreter) in the suburbs. after graduation, Lukas wants to move to the East or West Coast to write. This month, Lukas wrote about metrosexuals and reviewed Kylie Minogue's "Body Language." |
