I'm back, baby!
(Thursday, 22 February 2007) Written by Lauren B.
The last few weeks have been a complete whirlwind for me...so much has changed and I am happier than I have been in a long time.

A quick rundown on what's been happening in my life:

-- Left my first job...it's a bittersweet feeling. I was so excited to start a new job that was much better suited for me, but SO sad to leave some of the people I worked with. But hey, it's times like these that you learn who your true friends are -- a lesson I learned the hard way.

-- Started a new job that I absolutely freaking LOVE. I'm doing the same thing - public relations - but at an agency much closer to home and clients that are much more ME. I love it so far.

-- Ch-ch-changes...I'm a shadow of my former self. Gone are the days of sweatshirts, gym shoes, hole-y jeans and no makeup for work. I now get up a solid hour before I leave the house, I get ready and dress cute every single day, and have enough time to chit-chat with my roommates before I leave the house. I'm also always out and about at events for work and I've met so many great new people and been to so many awesome new places. More info on events and cool places to go in a future blog.

A few celeb-related thoughts before I get ready to watch Meredith (hopefully!) die on Grey's Anatomy...

1). Britney. My heart bleeds for this girl. Yes, she's made bad decisions and is putting her children in jeopardy. Yes, shaving her head is a strange (and disturbing) thing to do. Yes, checking in and out of rehab multiple times in a three day span is nuts. But my heart goes out to her. I've always been such a huge fan of hers and it pains me to see her going through all this. This situation has made me realize how co-dependent I am with her. I literally am worried sick about her. Damn you, K-Fed for ruining this poor girl's life.

2). Miss Jessica Simpson herself went on a shopping spree at Jake boutique, one of my new clients, per Mr. John Mayer's suggestion (she even bought him a shirt!). Though it's a mere two blocks from my office, we didn't find out about it until after she left (obviously) so I didn't get to see her. But we did pitch the story (successfully) to People Magazine, US Weekly and the Sun-Times. Did I mention I love my new job?

Well, that's all for now. Sorry for the ridiculous lack of posts but I promise to get better now that I'm (sorta) settled at my new gig.

When you're out and about this weekend, tip a 40 for our fallen friend, Britney.

It's been a while...
(Friday, 29 December 2006) Written by Lauren B.
I think we all can understand how the madness of the holidays can leave little time for blogging...especially about something as non-sensical as celebrities.

I'm sick (green around the gills, if you will) but I wanted to let everyone know about the first "MUST SEE" concert of 2007: Bottle of Justus at the House of Blues. I plan on writing a longer review of the show/band sometime soon, but there are still tickets available for $10. The show's on January 5. For more info, go to www.bottleofjustus.com or www.myspace.com/bottleofjustus.

See ya next year! (Just kidding, I despise it when people say that. Office cliche, what?)

Vaughniston NO MORE!
(Thursday, 07 December 2006) Written by Lauren B.
So for anyone that knows me, the holidays usually aren't my bag. But this year, I've totally gotten into it and am doing my part to spread holiday cheer. One thing that has been fueling this unlikely Christmas spirit is some news that surfaced earlier this week. Let me preface this by saying that though I didn't ever copy her stupid haircut, I like Jennifer Aniston as much as the next guy.

But...I couldn't help but be a little bitter when she started dating my main squeeze, my "tall drink of water," Vince Vaughn. Who could help but love his boyish charm, quick wit, and utter hilarity?

Truthfully, I never understood their connection. I picture him with someone more like...well, me. No, seriously, someone funny and bubbly and outgoing...like Cameron Diaz. Not Jennifer "America's Sweetheart" Aniston. I picture her with someone distinguished, classic and a homebody...like George Clooney.

So, needless to say, I was elated by the news this week that Jennifer and Vince are DUNZO!!! My faith in the Christmas spirit is renewed.

However...I was NOT elated by the news that Vince cheated on Jen with THIS thing!!!!!!

Now, I don't subscribe to the theory that when someone cheats, they should make it "worth it". Cheating is cheating, regardless of who it is with. I simply can't understand why Vince would jeopardize his year-long relationship with Jen to romp in Budapest with THAT girl, when I'm in Chicago, practically NEIGHBORS with the guy.

I'm taking any and all reports of Vince sightings in Chicago...I WILL find him. Mark my words!!!

Celebrity Gossip Updates
(Friday, 01 December 2006) Written by Lauren B.
Since I'm not told exclusively by celebrities about the goings-on in their lives, I'm forced to research the information via other websites. Therefore, I will be posting new information and links to stories where you can read more about them. Enjoy.

--Eva Longoria is engaged to that basketball player. Unfortunately, no one cares.

--Perez Hilton is being sued for copyright infringement. I can't wait to get my hands on a picture of him in court so I can photoshop obscene things in white on his face.

--Britney, I thought I made it clear yesterday that you need to start cleaning up your act.

And finally, will someone please buy me this for Christmas? Or at least steal the last episode for me?

So much to say...
(Thursday, 30 November 2006) Written by Lauren B.
I finally have some time to write a longer blog. So much has happened over the last few months that I've been dying to write about but I'll have to water it down for my first blog.

First, did everyone see the clip of a drunken Danny DeVito on the View this morning?

I'm sure I'd be acting the same way if I got to party all night with George Clooney, but I would bet that my hair would be even messier than DeVito's was. The only sad part is that DeVito finally got a break with a new movie coming out, and may have blown it with his drunken escapades with Rosie & Co. Hey, still makes for great comedy.

Moving on...I'm sure we've all seen the multiple Britney up-the-skirt-with-no-panties photos. I've supported that girl since day one, but this one takes the cake. I can stomach the heinous weave, the K-Fed debacle, and EVEN the friendship with Paris. What I cannot and WILL NOT stand for is no undies under a short skirt. Where is this woman's publicist? Leslie Sloane-Zelnick, Brit is in dire need of your services.

That's all I've got for now. Gotta get to bed so I can wake up at 5:30 to drive in 10 inches of snow for 3 hours. Holla!
