Two words explain the Zebra Lounge – old school.

The old school feel makes this bar/lounge a great experience. It is very small, is known for its piano bar and is always packed full. And even with a packed house and the piano man rockin’ out, you can still hear the person next to you and can carry out a conversation.

Zebra Lounge
1220 N. State Parkway
Chicago, IL
(3121) 642-5140
Hours: 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sundays
5 p.m.to 2 a.m. Mondays through Fridays
5 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturdays

ATOMSPHERE

Very tight and very small but very good. The bar is small and there isn’t a ton of room and almost feels like your in someone’s basement, but trust me, this legendary hot spot is still one of the coolest bars around.

CROWD

One of the most diverse age groups I have seen. Grandpa is sitting at a table with his sugar mama while dad is dancing with mom and their daughter is getting worked with pickup lines at the bar. I think I even saw a 12-year-old walk by me with a martini (just kidding).

ENTERTAINMENT / EVENTS

Like I said, play me a song, you’re the piano man. Every night, oh year.

SPIRITS

I stuck to import beers, but others were drinking martinis and other mix drinks. The friendly and fast bartenders seemed extremely knowledgeable in mixing any drink every imaginable.

PRICES

The price tag was surprisingly low for the night for the area the Zebra Lounge is located in. In fact, it is probably one of the most cost efficient options in the area – and there is no cover charge, which makes it that much more appealing.

WHY IT’S UNIQUE

Again, bringing it back to the old school is the key in uniqueness. And for how small this place it, the attention it gets from all age groups is very exciting. Demographics are really removed at this bar.
