ATMOSPHERE
Though the space is small, it does not feel that way. High Ceilings and an open floor plan give the illusion of a much bigger area. The warm paint palette and rich woods are inviting, but the unique tables (Some made of old doors and recycled flooring) add flair, keeping this bar far out of the bland spectrum. Also note the collection of stained glass windows and photography hanging around the walls. This is definitely a place to spend some time.
CROWD
Small Bar attracts them all, from the more alternative to the conventional, everybody seems to be able to coexist here. Here's a hint though, this is not a place to go to be snooty. There are plenty of other places that will cater to snobbery; this is not one of them. It should also be noted that this is very soccer friendly, Futbol is played on the plentiful flat screens whenever its on. Small BAR is a second home for the Chicago Fire, so don't expect to see the usual sports mumbojumbo, but you can catch Da Bears and Bulls there too.
ENTERTAINMENT / EVENTS
Keep a watch out for beer tastings, chili cookouts, singles nights and whatever reason small BAR decides to party for next.
SPIRITS
There is a full bar with any liquor you can imagine, but the real scoop here is the beer, Hundreds to choose from with Kegs rotating in weekly. There is always a new beer here to try.
GRUB
Good Lord Almighty. The food here is good and plentiful. The salads are giant, the appetizers are monstrous, and the sandwiches are filling. Watch for specials like Chili, Fried Chicken, and other down home goodies. I must say that the Brunch is my all time favorite; I go there every Sunday. French Toast, Omelets, Breakfast Burritos, Biscuits & Gravy, just to name some of the gems from their selection of breakfast foods. You can also order most of the normal menu items at brunch. The food is much better than your average bar.
PRICES
Small BAR is good for a small budget too. Cans of Schlitz or Old Style run around $2 and the food is an outstanding value for the buck. Some of the fancy beers can get pricey, with good reason though. The mixed drinks are about average.
WHY IT'S UNIQUE
small BAR is everything you can ask for in a bar and more, a great place to bring friends, a place to watch the games, pick up a date or take one. There's plenty for everybody at this joint, and it wont leave you wanting for more.
