It’s a smaller bar with very little room to do much, but the intimate setting works just fine, especially when you are singing obnoxiously on stage. It isn’t a high class trendy bar, but it’s definitely the perfect setting for an Irish pub.

CROWD

Murphy’s is filled with regulars and locals, but the out-of-towner is always welcome to participate in the night’s activities. While the pub always has at least a few people drinking their worries away, Thursday, Friday and Saturday attract nice sized attention for the patrons.

ENTERTAINMENT

You have sports on the TVs, a little Golden Tee, dartboards, karaoke, hot bartenders and a tiny patio. Sounds entertaining, doesn’t it? And, the people make it entertaining, as I once saw my brother throw up in the middle of the bar on his 21st b-day and I once say my buddy Bren think she could actually sing during a karaoke night only to get major boos (could have been her NY Yankee hat).

SPIRITS/PRICES

The pitchers of beer are always delicious and cheap, and often, there is a new bar being sampled for cheap. Murphy’s is another affordable option for your tour of Vegas-like Forest Park.

WHY IT’S UNIQUE

Murphs has the best karaoke, by far, of all the Madison St. bars. And I sing there, too, doesn’t that make it unique?

Murphy's Rocks! Written by Guest on 2007-08-29 19:45:00 They took out the pool table last week which has made room for tons more people! This is the place to hang-out on the weekdays, or party hard at night!
