Give Lady Sovereign another few years of spittiní lyrics while her DJ dishes out solid beats and Missy Elliott just may have to take a back seat to the European "mighty midget."

Lady Sovereign
August 4, 2006
PlayStation Stage
Lollapalooza

During her hour-long Lollapalooza stint, Sovereign won over a packed crowd in front of the smaller PlayStation stage, as she dished out some hardcore lyrics, screamed fuck and held up the middle finger while drinking a Budweiser (the young emcee is not even 21) and jumping around stage. Her energetic performance was solid, even though she chilled backstage for nearly 15 minutes after her slatted start time ñ perfect identifier of a diva.

While performing, Sovereign added a little theatrical performance to her set by having an artist paint a contemporary image while she jumped around. The painter, drinking from a giant bottle of Champaign, interacted with Sovereign and even had paint spit all over his face by the feisty little rapper.

Lady Sovereignís tomboy attitude and dress made her seem even tougher and rebellious, but the fans who gathered didnít seem frightened by her demeanor as she yet again rocked Chicago, just as she did at her last show at the Empty Bottle.

Sovereign is definitely on the path to success, proving that Jay-Z was smart to sign her to a deal on the spot when the youngster freestyled for him at his desk. If her performances continue to be as emotionally high as that of Lolla, she is yet another artist whoís name could be Billboard material in no time.
