With softer sets highlighting the earlier entertainment on Saturday, Lollapalooza-goers were definitely ready for a mosh pit, crowd surfing enticing performance by Wolfmother, an early festival favorite. A crowd of well over 10,000 gathered in front of the Q101 stage for the lively performance by the Aussie trio.

The beginning of Wolfmother's performance even merited an appearance by Perry Ferrell, who made a point of being on stage to introduce the powerful band.
Wolfmother brought down the house for Saturday's earliest giant crowd, as the tough and ridged rockstars performed music often compared to that of early Black Sabbath with a mix of Led Zeppelin blended with the energy of early Korn.
By showcasing both their musical and lyrical talent, Wolfmother instantly gained more fans with their lively performance. Despite the harsh heat and humid weather conditions, the Aussies were able to rock out hard for well over a half an hour before their set started to slow down in energy a bit and the crowd began to show signs of exhaustion.
Adding Wolfmother to the schedule and placing them early on Saturday's bill was a smart decision, as it pumped the crowd up for some of the day's later shows, including the Gnarls Barkley performance immediately following, right across the grass. Wolfmother succeed in increasing their fan base and should be in prime position for massive ticket sales on their next visit to Chicago. Powered by AkoComment 2.0! |
