If Lollapalooza was a popularity contest, Gnarls Barkley would have been the winners - as the Raconteurs, Mates of State and Kanye West each covered the bandís hot hot hot "Crazy", each adding their own little twist to the popular song.

For Gnarls Barkley, composed of Cee-Lo Green and DJ Danger Mouse, Lollapalooza gave them a huge Chicago boost, as they were easily the most anticipated performers of the magical weekend.

Built around a 13-piece band, the band showed respect to the Violent Femmes by covering "Gone Daddy Gone" and nailing to perfection "Crazy", easily lifting them to the top of the charts as Lollapalooza 2006's best acts.

At each show, the band, named after the 76ers great Charles Barkley, dresses in some sort of comical attire. Surprisingly, though, the band did not perform in a Chicago respected attire, as the hot group came out dressed as tennis pros. Going into the set, betters were placing their money on the Blues Brothers. Too bad.

For Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse, it looks as if they have found their perfect musical match for success, combining for Gnarls Barkley. Both have succeeded on their own, but as long as they can work together to dish out fantastic lyrics, great tunes and mixes, then this band could quickly become a super band for this generation.
