Whatever happened to the ideology of “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”? Not only did Kevin Federline receive divorce papers last week, but he blew a golden opportunity to prove himself to the haters.
Up until the divorce announcement, the media had no interest in covering his Chicago concert. After the news, suddenly, everyone from "Entertainment Tonight" to the major Chicago dailies all wanted in. So what did his people do? They issued a media lock down, of course. Makes sense right? You now actually have the media knocking down your door yet you ignore them.
I get it, no one wants to talk about personal issues as bad as an ending of a relationship - not to mention one that is in the public eye as much as Federline's. But did they really think that by denying the press the issue would be ignored? Is that arrogance, or just plain stupid?
I know this is nothing new and it happens all the time, but why not take this opportunity to open the door and ride with it? Spin it in your favor. Isn’t that why you have “people” in the first place? Why didn’t they reach out publicly and say please come out and see a man who in spite of all his personal turmoil is a showman. Now that would have been something, and it could have put a spin on the bad press. And Federline, for one, needs it.
Instead, they said nothing, and in the end had to open the doors hoping anyone - fan or hater - would make their way to the show. Kind of sad if you ask me.
When will people get their heads out of their asses and realize sometimes you have to roll with the hand you are dealt? Kevin Federline had every opportunity to be marketed as the next big thing thanks to who he married. He’s got the looks and he had all the doors open to him. You of course need to also believe in yourself and have the talent to back it all up (or just a really good producer with Pro Tools).
So is that what happened last week in Chicago? No one including his own people believed in the K-Fed? Perhaps it’s as simple as that. If so, then maybe you should consider firing your people, quitting your day job and go back to shaking your ass. I hear Christina is going back on the road. Perhaps she’s got an opening. Just remember, keep it professional, keep it in your pants, and learn from your mistakes.

Constantly ask yourself, 'what would I do without it?' ". | Eek Written by Guest on 2006-11-30 10:50:54 I had a dream that I fell in love with K-Fed last night...or should I call it a nightmare? |
