If you put Funk, Blues, and Rock in a blender, hit frappe and listen; what comes out would probably sound a lot like Dry White Toast. These local boys all have diverse musical backgrounds and tastes, but manage to pull it all together to form a smooth fusion of sounds that is ever evolving. After accruing a loyal following in the ‘burbs, the boys have turned their attentions towards the city. This being their third go with Lumino, we are happy to have them on the bill so read on to gain a deeper sense of what these “up and comers” are all about.

What is the band’s connection to Chicago?

Describe your sound and name?

Dry White Toast comes from a famous line in the Blues Brothers. Our sound is a mix of funk and rock.

What is your favorite Chicago venue?

The Metro, the Vic, or the Auditorium Theater.

Where do you hope to take the band in the future?

We want to keep playing music and giving the people what they want. We also want to expand our array of musicians, maybe bring in some horns and percussion, especially into the studio.
