What is the band’s connection to Chicago?

We are originally from Detroit. We moved here in hopes of being signed to a record label and progressing in music and that’s what happened, pretty much. We got signed to WC records and stuff’s really moving for us.

Describe your sound and name?

Punk rock. My brother played guitar in marching band in high school. I played snare drum. We knew this kid and his name was John Rumbel. Everyone called him Jonny. And one day the band director called him Jonny Rumble and that name stuck. He played trombone and he was this little skinny dorky kid. And then one day, in the mid summer, when I was a freshman in college my brother woke me up and was like “Dude. I’ve got an awesome name for our band.”

What can we expect from your live show?

You can expect to have your ass kicked. It’s in your face, it’s loud, and it’s an attention getter. For sure your attention will be glued to it.

What is your favorite Chicago venue?

Abbey Pub or the Double Door. I really love the Abbey pub, it’s fun as hell there.

Where do you hope to take the band in the future?

To the top. We’re going to stick in Chicago for awhile and we plan on doing some full-time touring.

• Doors open at 6 pm. Tickets available online at www.AbbeyPub.com// or at the door
