Lumino Magazine is proud to pull the Musical Outfits out of our wardrobe for our Jingle Your Bells show. You may have seen them at Lollapalooza, and if you want to see them again (or for the first time) you’d better make this a priority because they don’t all even live in the same city.

What is the band’s connection to Chicago?

We are all Chicago natives but all of us don’t currently reside here now. This is where we grew up as a band and this is where we played most of our shows.

Describe your sound and name?

We try to play harder stuff, softer stuff, we have some stuff with country influences. The four of us like all different kinds of music so what happens when we write songs is someone will have a very basic idea and the rest of us will put our stylings in there with it. I guess its rock with a melody, “Power Pop”. Each member has their own interpretation of what our name means. My take on it is that it refers to all of our different styles.

What can we expect from your live show?

A lot of the times we don’t even have a set list. What you can definitely expect is probably the songs that you like off the album, if you’re heard the album. There’s no pyro, just guys playing music that they enjoy.

What is your favorite Chicago venue?

Well…The Metro. House of blues is a close second. The Metro has a more intimidate feel to it.

Where do you hope to take the band in the future?

I would be completely happy and satisfied as long as we got to do music and not anything else. I have a day job right now and it’s kind of hard when we’re touring. It would be cool if I could quit my job and get insurance just by playing music.

• Doors open at 6 pm. Tickets available online at www.AbbeyPub.com// or at the door
