Kittie’s claws still sharp after a few years of growing up. After their release of Spit in 2000, the Lander sisters have spent their adolescent years honing an already hard edge sound normally reserved for the men’s only club

"Funeral for Yesterday"
(X Of Infamy)
Released February 20, 2007
Morgan and Mercedes who were barely old enough to drive when the single “Brackish” hit the mainstream, have proven you don’t need to be able to piss standing up in order to deliver fast guitar and toxic vocals.

Now after 10 years as a band, Kittie is about to release their fifth album, Funeral for Yesterday. The sisters who are now 21 and 23 have refocused their energy to a more mature rock album. Still kicking ass, the hard edge is still there only now it is a bit more damaging with the stronger vocals from Morgan. Her tone is a bit more reminiscent of Amy Lee (of Evanescence) these days instead of the punk style of bands like L7 or Babes in Toyland.

This time around there also seems to be more meaning behind the songs. Titles like “Funeral for Yesterday” and “Breathe” sing true to rebirth and restructure. Much like the band has gone through. Morgan and the girls display a maturity that also comes through in “Witch Hunt”. >p>While still very young in their career, Kittie has shown that age and gender has nothing to do with being able to deliver some face-punch, boot-stomping music. To their credit and unlike their male counterparts, they just have the advantage of adding their own feline feel to it.

Funeral For Yesterday is their 4th album, not 5th.
1.- Spit
2.- Oracle
3.- Until The End
4.- Funeral For Yesterday
