The Beatles once sang, “The love you take is equal to the love you make,” lyrics which appear along with all of the lyrics of John, Paul, George, and Ringo to explore the wonderful geniuses that were, and still are, The Beatles. Anyone who is a fan of The Beatles and of the Cirque du Soleil shows has to see “Love” to believe.
First off, the new and improved former Siegfried and Roy theater is incredible. It's a theater in the round that has a mirror image of performances happening simultaneously with one another. For the most part, no matter where you are seated, you have a perfect view of everything. The show uses a combination of screens and amidst people and sets appearing and disappearing from the stage.
The story of the show begins at the start of World War II, when The Beatles themselves were born. The music is incredible and the opening is so overwhelming that I was giddy in my seat. The soundtrack, if you aren't already aware, is a “mash-up” of The Beatles songs from all eras and may be the best soundtrack of all time. It was produced by The Beatle's very own producer and his son and is a must have in your CD collection if you don't own it already. Your ears are spoiled with hits like: “Get Back,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “Drive My Car,” “Something,” “Help,” “Yesterday,” “Strawberry Fields,” and “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,” to name just a few.
Of course, it's not just our ears we are here to stimulate but our eyes as well and “Love” delivers with a smorgasbord of visuals. You have to really pay attention to all the little visual interpretations of The Beatle lyrics or you might miss them. They include everything from actual characters like The Walrus, Lady Madonna, and Sgt. Pepper to dance numbers that are choreographed throughout the songs.
A show about The Beatles wouldn't be the same without an appearance from the mop tops themselves and the Cirque du Soleil team has found a way to have them play a part in the fun, too. By using the variety of screens (I mentioned earlier) and various in-between song studio banter, they have found a way to have the four lads from Liverpool make a variety of appearances throughout the show, thus making the whole production complete.
If you are a fan of The Beatles or enjoy the Cirque du Soleil shows, this is a must stop when you are in Vegas. Sure the Blue Man Group is fun but no one can compete with the musical legacy of The Beatles and the “Love” production has found a way to have an evening for us to come together and share their musical magic.

Laurie Tyler, CANADA Written by Guest on 2007-02-23 12:20:35 I couldn't agree more. I have tickets for March and saw it the first time last Dec. I took my son who is 23, as his Chrismas present. A Beatle fan from the womb, he called the experience "lifechanging"
