The last few weeks have been a complete whirlwind for me...so much has changed and I am happier than I have been in a long time.
A quick rundown on what's been happening in my life:
-- Left my first job...it's a bittersweet feeling. I was so excited to start a new job that was much better suited for me, but SO sad to leave some of the people I worked with. But hey, it's times like these that you learn who your true friends are -- a lesson I learned the hard way.
-- Started a new job that I absolutely freaking LOVE. I'm doing the same thing - public relations - but at an agency much closer to home and clients that are much more ME. I love it so far.
-- Ch-ch-changes...I'm a shadow of my former self. Gone are the days of sweatshirts, gym shoes, hole-y jeans and no makeup for work. I now get up a solid hour before I leave the house, I get ready and dress cute every single day, and have enough time to chit-chat with my roommates before I leave the house. I'm also always out and about at events for work and I've met so many great new people and been to so many awesome new places. More info on events and cool places to go in a future blog.
A few celeb-related thoughts before I get ready to watch Meredith (hopefully!) die on Grey's Anatomy...
1). Britney. My heart bleeds for this girl. Yes, she's made bad decisions and is putting her children in jeopardy. Yes, shaving her head is a strange (and disturbing) thing to do. Yes, checking in and out of rehab multiple times in a three day span is nuts. But my heart goes out to her. I've always been such a huge fan of hers and it pains me to see her going through all this. This situation has made me realize how co-dependent I am with her. I literally am worried sick about her. Damn you, K-Fed for ruining this poor girl's life.
2). Miss Jessica Simpson herself went on a shopping spree at Jake boutique, one of my new clients, per Mr. John Mayer's suggestion (she even bought him a shirt!). Though it's a mere two blocks from my office, we didn't find out about it until after she left (obviously) so I didn't get to see her. But we did pitch the story (successfully) to People Magazine, US Weekly and the Sun-Times. Did I mention I love my new job?
Well, that's all for now. Sorry for the ridiculous lack of posts but I promise to get better now that I'm (sorta) settled at my new gig.
When you're out and about this weekend, tip a 40 for our fallen friend, Britney. Powered by AkoComment 2.0! |
