You read that right and how can Chicagoans feel otherwise with the recent residency announcements planned for the two coasts and nothing here in their very own city of Chicago. Smashing Pumpkins why have you disowned your hometown?
We already knew Corgan’s Pumpkins are set to play their first show in seven years in Paris not Chicago in May and then they announced Virgin Festival over Chicago’s own Lollapalooza on the same weekend. That was bad enough and disappointing but now you are playing weeks at a time in North Carolina and San Francisco? Hello, what about the Windy City? You remember us right? Remember you began here and you ended here?
Now perhaps I am jumping the gun and Corgan’s Pumpkins are going to play a few surprise shows in the Windy City and if so I will be more than happy to apologize for accusing you of dissing us, however May 22nd is right around the corner and even your PR firm doesn’t know of any plans for Chicago.
So the clock is ticking and are you really going to restart the Smashing Pumpkins and not premiere them in Chicago? If so shame on you Mister Corgan.

A. He has not officially announced these so called new members.
B. Doesn't matter, Smashing Pumpkins is a Chicago band.
