Shrek the Third Wins Box Office Print E-mail

Shrek the Third was the expected winner at the box office this weekend, raking in over $123 million. It beat the previous two Shreks' opening weekends, and set the record for an animated opening. Spider-Man 3 was in the second spot, making $28 million for a total of $282 million.

There were no other wide debuts this weekend, but Disturbia continued to have a decent hold. See the full box office here.
