WISEGUY: OZZY OSBOURNE Print E-mail
Written by Details Magazine

Lumino Magazine found out about this tell all interview that Ozzy Osbourne did with Details Magazine for their June/July issue and we’ve obtained a preview before it even hits the newsstands. Shhh don’t tell anybody but check it out for yourself.

Ozzy Osbourne became famous during his days in Black Sabbath and re-surfaced to a new generation – during his MTV show “The Osbournes.” In the article the ant-snorting, bat-biting edler statesmen of heavy metal mumbles about drink, dope and reality TV.

On if he misses having camera crews at his hours during the taping of “The Osbournes”

No, I don’t. There were shitloads of cameras everywhere. But I told them that I’ve got to have a safe room. I’ve got to have a room where I can go and scratch my balls or picky my nose or squeeze a zit and not be on camera.

On if this “safe room” was actually safe

When you’ve got cameras in the house, it makes you a bit paranoid. So I’m sitting there one day in my safe room watching a military documentary. My real passion is documentaries. And this fucking creepy feeling comes over me. So I’m looking around the room – and in the far corner I find this tiny little camera. So I said to one of the guys, ‘Is there a camera in this fucking room?!?!’ and he goes ‘Yeah.” I said ‘Well, that’s fucking safe isn’t it!” What am I going to do, masturbate and wear women’s fucking underclothes? IF that’s what you want I’ll do it and get it over with.

On how he was depicted on the show

My son said to me one day, ‘Dad let me ask you a question. Do you like people laughing with you or at you?’ And I said, ‘You know what Jack? As long as they’re laughing, I don’t give a fuck.’ I didn’t really understand what he was saying then, but in hindsight he was sort of saying, in a nicer way, that everybody thinks you’re a fucking joke.

On being sober for four years

For a long time I was a real fucking drug addict and alcoholic. But I very rarely went onstage loaded. At the end of the show-that’s when I’d get vicodin’d. People still come up to me and go, ‘Man, I read the Motely Crue book – it must have been really out there to snort that thing that you did.’

On Snorting the line of ants

Yeah the line of ants. I have no recollection of that – it may have been in Florida. The Motley Crue tour, it was fucking nuts. It was absolutely out of control. But I couldn’t have kept on living that lifestyle, because I didn’t want to die. You have to get pissed off at yourself before you put your hand up for help.

On being anti-establishment

I haven’t forgotten my roots. I don’t like hanging around in nightclubs. I still believe in rock and roll. And my son’s too old to get called up now, but I always said that if they bring back conscription, I would make sure he didn’t get through. I don’t like the idea of my son being called to fight for some silly little war in Iraq over fucking oil, you know?

On going to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, starring President Bush in 2002

Yeah, um…I was fucking out of my tree. I was absolutely fucking loaded

On recently releasing his ninth solo album, BLACK RAIN, and living this long…

I’ve been terribly lucky. When I had my ATV accident, I was going not more than three or fours miles an hour, and I ended up in a coma for eight days. My heart stopped twice. I don’t remember any of it. I went back to the hospital after the accident and the doctors were telling me ‘your left lung was completely full of blood. You broke your rib, your collarbone, your neck – you’re lucky to be alive.’ If I had been going 120 miles and hour it would have been a cool way to go – but four miles an hour? Ozzy Osbourne?!’

Ozzy in Motley Crue?

Uh, get your facts straight if you're going to work as a writer. Ozzy was never in Motley Crue. Motley Crue toured as the opening band for Ozzy and his band. This is why they speak of the Motley Crue book, because some of those days are documented in Crue's book. Who, in this day and age, after all the exposure Ozzy has had over the years, and all the exposure Tommy Lee and the rest of Motley Crue have had, would think that Ozzy was in Motley Crue? Lazy, plain lazy.
Yeah, what's the deal with that?

I mean, c'mon: writers/journalist should tread lightly and REALLY get their facts straight...it may have been a brain fart (my guess is that whoever wrote was thinking of Black Sabbath and got mixed up with the reference from "The Dirt"...), but still... looks pretty bad... :x

Thanks for all the comments, you are correct and not sure how we missed that. Of course we know Ozzy as the on again and off again lead singer of Black Sabbath. We apologize to you and Vince Neil.
