Escape the tourists and ride the escalator up to a bit of relaxation and enjoyment, otherwise known as Bandera, while enjoying the energy of Michigan Ave. from above as the dim lights and jazz band help you unwind from a long day. Although there are no reservations necessary, you may want to time your visit to ensure you secure a seat near the window to experience a great view. Bandera is the perfect Chicago hot spot for a late night dinner, and, perhaps a date.

ATMOSPHERE
Bandera is a romantic spot that won’t put a dent in your wallet and will charm most any date. Enjoy prime people watching and sink into the stylish and comfortable leather booths and Western decor. The live music, dim lighting and spectacular view of Michigan Ave. help make this American Style restaurant the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.
CROWD
Perfect for a date, or a meeting with co-workers, this restaurant is frequented by couples and professionals wearing casual dress. The restaurant’s intimate feel and soft background music make having a conversation for work or pleasure both attainable and enjoyable.
GRUB
Bandera serves a wide variety of American Style food. The staff promptly brings out the food, yet never rushes or interrupts a meal. Entrees range from the roast prime rib to jambalaya. An excellent pick is the Bar-B-Q Salmon as well as their famous cornbread and “Bandera Style” chicken. The appetizers were good, but small in size.
PRICES
Entrees range from $12-20. Very reasonable, given the location.
WHY IT'S UNIQUE
Located in the heart of all Chicago tourism, Bandera feels miles away from the crowds below and provides the perfect escape from the chaos and tourists. The menu is large and diverse and unlike most of the surrounding restaurants, Bandera’s late hours make it convenient for both dining and lingering.
