The Beatles are one of those bands who's music will live on forever and inspire generations after generations to come. In fact, their music is everywhere today, as much as it was in the sixties. In 2006, The Beatle’s Love Cirque du Soleil show opened at the Mirage in Vegas. This past year, a movie inspired by The Beatle’s music was released in theaters entitled, Across the Universe.

Directed by Julie Taymor, Across the Universe is somewhere between a rock opera and a extended music video with a storyline inspired by the songs of The Beatles. Think Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge and you start to get the vision of Across The Universe. At least I think my interpretations are correct? Actually I haven’t watched it. I was prepared to review the newly released movie on blu-ray except for one problem; my Samsung blu-Ray player will not play the damn movie. Now it’s not the blu-ray disc it’s the bullshit player. So I have the movie and I would love to review it for you, but thanks to Samsung I am unable to watch it.
So do yourself a favor, if you are in the market for a blu-ray player, and you should be, do not buy Samsung. In particularly, do not buy their Samsung BD-P1200 player. Maybe in a few months Samsung will issue a firmware update for this disc and I will be able to do my job and write up a review. In the meantime, I have a very pricey coaster and you my friends have no review! |
BD1200 Samsung Written by Guest on 2008-02-08 13:17:56 ...work around which may help: start another movie, hit stop or merely open and remove it (?)remove it after its playing. worked for Live Free or Die Hard which did not work after firmware upgrade which was needed for the previous BD Die Hards | Thanks! Written by publisher on 2008-02-08 15:41:00 Thanks for the suggestion I will try that. But still, how insane is the fact you need to do that maneuver in order to get the damn movie to work? I did add the new firmware and disc 1 of Pirates III works, but of course not disc 2. What in hell is with that? It's amazing they can't get this right. Samsung needs to just do a recall of this player. | swb67c10 Written by Guest on 2008-02-08 23:40:37 works just fine on my ps3 | Samsung Written by Guest on 2008-02-12 20:05:39 Samsung claims it is the studios' fault for not supplying the "keys" to them to decode the movies. They said other manufacturers get them sooner and that Samsung is being dodged by the studios. Personally, I think that's a load of crap but that's what they told me. | Hmm... Written by publisher on 2008-02-15 15:57:09 If that is so, then Samsung should have their own lawsuit going. Plus, that doesn't make sense to me when not all of their players are having these needed firmware updates. If it was all their Samsung players across the board then okay, but it's not. | imgovyjm Written by Guest on 2008-06-17 15:30:51 oqolkrib anfhkwzi http://gqehsuzq.com grmjnayc pleaqpma rgiasfms |
