Let’s face it. Right now, you live in one of the largest cities in the world. Chicago is and always will be a unique hub of culture and entertainment. So why stay at home this weekend and stare at the television? The weather is beautiful, it is time to get off the couch and have some fun.

Friday night check out Team Canada at the Enclave (220 W. Chicago) this is the DJ team so good that Paris Hilton requested them special for her birthday party. Watch as they spin on four turntables simultaneously cranking out the club beats. It is a party not to be missed.

Those looking for a more culturally satisfying day should check out Art Chicago this Saturday through Monday. Held at the Merchandise Mart (222 Merchandise Mart Plaza) this 16th annual art fair showcases over 180 galleries representing over 2,000 artists from around the world. The show goes from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Friday through Monday.

Foodies will not want to miss the Globe Pub’s (1934 W. Irving Park Rd) Chili Cook-Off event. All are welcome to join in and while there is no entry fee for just a five-dollar donation you can sample each of the contestant’s recipes. The winner gets to keep half the money collected while the other half goes the local Fire Department charity fund. The cook-off starts at noon on Sunday so arrive early and be the first to eat.

Have you always wanted to meet the President? Now you can. Kind of. Former President Jimmy Carter will be reading from and autographing copies of his new book “A Remarkable Mother” this Wednesday night at Borders (830 N. Michigan Ave.). The event starts at seven but lines are sure to be long so expect a wait.

Music lovers should get their tickets now to see The Nightwatchman this Thursday night at the Park West (322 W. Armitage Ave.). One-man band Tom Morello will be playing his edgy rock as a benefit for the Justice Fund. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and admission is 10 dollars.

Each week the city is just bursting with excitement. From the fun to the truly strange, there is always something going on in the city. Have an adventure and make this week one you will never forget.
