Grey's DVD Delivers on 4th Time Around Print E-mail

ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy follows a group of surgical interns and physicians at the fictional Seattle Grace hospital. Often narrated by the show’s namesake, Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo), the shows follows the drama, the traumas of being a doctor, in and out of the hospital. Think ER if MTV provided the soundtrack. This late spring mid-season replacement proved to be more than just another hospital drama and became a smash hit back in 2005. Now preparing to go into its fifth season, Grey’s Anatomy’s fourth season has just arrived in a 5-disc box set, expanded and full of bonus features.

Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Fourth Season

Special Features

Created by Shonda Rhimes
Narrated by Ellen Pompeo
Starring Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, Patrick Dempsey, Justin Chambers, T. R. Knight, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens, Jr.

Season four premiered on September 27, 2007, this was the first time the series added and lost some of their main characters to help add new life to the series. First Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) left for Los Angeles to join a “Private Practice” (which is the title of the spin-off series she left to star in). Cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) was replaced by new head of cardiothoracic surgery Dr. Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith). Dr. Erica Hahn you may remember as a reoccurring character in season two and three. Another character from the past, Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh), after appearing as the “woman in Joe’s bar” in season three who tried to pick up Dr. Derek Sheperd (Patrick Dempsey), returns also as a regular and is revealed to be Meredith Grey’s half-sister.

This season with our new characters bring new storylines and new drama. Lexie Grey tries desperately to bond with her half sister while also engaging incasual-sex relationships and bonds for a patient of hers played by Seth Green. Romance is in bloom throughout the season including a developing lesbian relationship. Of course the season finale delivers with Dr. Derek Sheperd finally coming to the conclusion to where his heart truly belongs.

Grey’s Anatomy Season Four: Expanded, comes with all 16 episodes (season cut short because of writer’s strike) and includes expanded episodes as well. But that’s not all; there are audio commentaries, documentaries, unaired scenes and even outtakes to keep you busy.

Grey’s Anatomy is an Emmy and Golden Globe winning series that has consistently been in the top 10 year after year. If there is anything bad to say about season four, is that much like all of the all television shows of last year, the season suffered because of the writer’s strike. The season started out a bit slow and didn’t seem as focused, but never fear picks up by the end. So if you haven’t yet discovered Grey’s Anatomy, what are you waiting for? Catch up with the first four seasons on DVD and get ready for season five coming your way on ABC September 25th.

Obviously not a real fan. S4 was an heap of crap. Only one episode worth watching, because it remembers us of better days.
It was so bad that the only actors available to do episode commentary where a newby and a hated guest. It looks that although not al loud as Heigl, the rest of the cast isn't ready to gush about this season either.
Crappy Season...

Not a huge fan true, but did enjoy the season...uneven as it was. There were a lot of changes in this season - good & bad but I still think they produced a good season.
