Ugly Betty is not your normal television drama about a single woman. Ugly Betty premiered on ABC in 2006 about a four-eyed, smile full of braces, young Latina living in Queens named Betty Suárez (America Ferrera). Betty’s world suddenly changes when she takes a job as a personal assistant at the high society fashion magazine called Mode. Ugly Betty is based on the Colombian telenovela Betty la fea ("Betty the Ugly"), written by Fernando Gaitán and is a unique take on the prime time soap opera.

The first season of Ugly Betty, we watched our title character ride her rollercoaster ride as she struggles to find a balance of her work, home and love life. Betty find out her boyfriend Walter is having an affair with neighbor Gina Gambarro. As Betty deals with his infidelity, she falls for fellow co-worker Henry Grubstick. Henry however may be having a baby with his previous girlfriend, who cheated on him. Are you following so far? This is only a few of the crazy storylines that is the fun of Ugly Betty.
Now with season two, Ugly Betty and all of the crazy characters are back along with even more additional characters. This season Betty has to decide if she wants to continue her relationship with Henry, all the while as deli shop owner Gio might be building more than just a platonic relationship with Betty. Season two continues to bring the viewer into the fun world of Ugly Betty and all the colorful characters and storylines around her.
