Comedy Central has always been smart when it comes to their DVD releases. Along with bonus material they released them uncensored and it gives you an additional reason to pick them up and watch the shows again. Mind of Mencia is a series that came out of the stand-up of Carlos Mencia. Mind of Mencia has a similar format and feel as Chappelle’s Show. The comedian performs standup in front of a live audience in between pre-recorded skits. Carlos Mencia is our host and star of the show that tackles controversial issues in his own comical ethnic flare. The successful show is currently up in the air for a fifth season so until then, Season 4 is out on DVD uncensored with a slew of bonus features.

Mind of Mencia premiered on Comedy Central in July 6, 2005 and due to high ratings was quickly renewed. Season four began airing on May 21, 2008 with a new introduction and a whole new stage. This season Mencia tackles everything from the current Presidential election to a parody iPod commercial entitled iPon. Season 4 continued to be controversial as Mencia pushed the envelope.
Mind of Mencia: Season 4 Uncensored arrives in a 2 disc DVD set. Along with all 10 episodes the collection includes bonus material as well. Between the Breaks is a collection of around 40 minutes of uncensored material that could have easily appeared on the show but were shot in between takes, including an appearance from Cheech Marin. Every episode includes bloopers and deleted scenes that did not appear in the original broadcast. Mencia Minutes are a collection of 6 short segments where Mencia comments on everything from celebrities giving their children weird names to the death of George Carlin.
As with any kind of humor, Mind of Mencia isn’t for everyone. Carlos Mencia has a certain style and no topic is too taboo for him to tackle. If you are a fan of Carlos Mencia or controversial humor, Mind of Mencia is for you. All 4 seasons are now available on DVD and ready for you to watch uncensored.
