Um, holy shit, this was a dream come true. First, I hang out with one of my favorite musicians shaded from the sun, talking about how f'd up the music industry is, and then I get to hang out backstage and watch his spectacular show. Oh, did I mention I got to photo shoot the show?
It does help to be friends with his publicist (thanks Emily. You are a rock star and just happen to rock by world). But, damn, this was awesome.
It was the same stage that Julie and I watched the Redwalls (Parkways Stage) – so, it was the perfect way to put a closing to the weekend. The difference between the two shows was that I actually danced and sang along at this show, simply because I wasn't trying to hide behind the fact that I really shouldn't have been allowed back there.
G. once again ruled. I once again danced (and probably got laughed at). And I couldn't seem to get Em to move her hips for me – that would have been hot. But, I did run into a high-up executive with Adidas and some fashion photographer big shot who both told me I have style. I have style – I like that.
Being backstage is such a privilege. Luckily for me, I have had many opportunities to chill on the side of the stage as some of the best musicians in the entire world entertain the crowd. It is a pretty surreal thing – being thrown into this rock-star world. And, when it's one of your top three favorite musicians, it makes it that much sweeter.
