Anyone that is an avid watcher of Family Guy is well aware of Seth MacFarlane’s almost obsession with everything Star Wars. Season after season vague or downright in your face references to the Star Wars Universe have been part of the fun in the Family Guy series. So it was only a matter of time before they featured a whole episode on the Sci-Fi classic films. With a lot of help from George Lucas, Blue Harvest was released back in September of 2007 and gave MacFarlane and his cohorts’ carte blanche to parody A New Hope. With the success of Blue Harvest it was only a matter of time for a Family Guy follow up. Something, Something, Something, Dark Side has just been released exclusively on standard DVD and Blu-ray and is the next installment parodying Empire Strike Back.

Something Something Something Dark Side continues the hilarious parody stories of Luke Skywalker (Chris Griffin), Han Solo (Peter Griffin) and Princess Leia (Lois Griffin) as they try to evade the evil forces of the all powerful Empire and little Darth Vader (Stewie Griffin). As the story goes, the Rebel Alliance are hiding out at the ice planet Hoth and the Empire have deployed probe droids (Joe Swanson) to locate them. Luke gets attacked by a Wampa (Cookie Monster) and Han Solo gets ready to leave to take care of the price on his head. But first he needs to find and save Luke. Luke of course escapes the Cookie Monster’s snow cave and sees a vision of Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi (Herbert) who informs him he must seek out the Jedi Mater Yoda (Carl). The Empire soon finds the Rebels and our friends all manage to escape. Before Luke plans to rendezvous with the rest of the Rebels he make a pit stop to see Yoda with his faithful droid R2-D2 (Cleveland Brown). While Han, Princess Leia, C-3PO (Quagmire) and Chewbacca (Brian Griffin) are heavily pursued by Darth and Star Destroyers they decide to hide in a cave on an asteroid that turns out to be actually the belly of a space slug (Meg Griffin).
As you can see all our favorite Family Guy characters are back to help in the hilarity in the continuing story of the Star Wars Universe. If you are a fan of Family Guy this is a must see and make sure you have seen Blue Harvest if you haven’t as well.
