“With only 300 tickets available we expect that they will go fast,” said Leslie Mendoza Temple, MD, Director of Integrative Medicine at Northshore. “We are looking forward to a great event that will raise much needed funds for a good cause.”
This concert is a unique opportunity to see one of alternative rock’s most prolific contributors up close and personal. Corgan, a Chicago native, is the lead singer of the Smashing Pumpkins. Throughout the 90s the band rose to stardom before splitting in 2000. After a series of pet projects the Pumpkin’s reunited in 2007 with two new members. Matt Walker, former Pumpkin’s drummer, now plays with Morrissey.
Guests will not only get the chance to see an intimate performance with Corgan and Walker but also take part in a silent auction and raffle. Thos wishing to make a larger contribution will get to meet with the band before the show. With multiple ticket options there’s something for everyone.
Proceeds will support an Integrative Medicine pilot program at the Kellogg Cancer Center at Evanston Hospital, specifically to provide counseling, acupuncture, massage therapy, stress reduction, and nutrition/supplements to patients at the Kellogg Cancer Care Center who otherwise could not afford these important services.
These treatments have been shown to help relieve the physical and emotional burdens of having cancer and the side effects of conventional medical treatments, while encouraging the body’s natural healing response. While important to the healing process, these types of therapies are typically not covered by medical insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.
