What’s going on here tonight? Was the question that many on goers asked as they walked past the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago. Perez Hilton, celebrity entertainment blogger, was hosting “One Night In Chicago” to kick off the Fifth Annual Music Lounge during Lollapalooza.

Two separate lines formed, one for media and the other approximately 50 people that won tickets to get into the party. After 45 minutes of standing in line, they begin letting everyone in. Two flights of stairs later people were gathered in a small area where Motorola displayed demo phones for the new Droid and Express had a table full of merchandise such as sunglasses, hats and jewelry.

To the left of the display area was the media area set up in the hallway between two elevators. In front of one of the elevators was a large burgundy background with the words Express, Motorola, Perez Hilton and UV Vodka. Everyone stood in suspense wondering who was going to come out.

Hilton steps out rocking a funky Mohawk with a gray suit jacket, matching gray slacks and a purple shirt all compliments of Express. “Lollapalooza is all about the music, I’m very excited about BoB,” said Hilton once everything calmed a bit.

Throughout the night more artists arrived for the hottest party in Chicago, amongst them were J. Brazil, BoB and Kid Sister. Kid Sister was very excited about being back in Chicago at Lollapalooza. “Yes, I’m coming out with a mix tape in two months,” she explained excitedly during the party.

On the other side of the venue, was a large room where the DJ had the crowd hyped as he played “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. As smoke came from the stage, a nice crowd of over a hundred people danced as others sipped on free drinks such as Publicity Punch, Blogger Bliss, Red Bull and vitaminwater compliments of UV Vodka and vitamin water.

Next to the DJ booth was a stage where talented artists like Kid Sister, J. Brazil, Lissie and BoB performed. When BoB performed the crowd was ecstatic, the back up dancers were full of energy and there was a great vibe in the room

Outside of the party was a noisy room of about 50 people holding different conversations as two or three promo girls walked through the room offering free Vitaminwater. And way on the other side was another room set up like a lounge area, with comfortable black sofa’s and tables where people were relaxing, talking and having cocktails as the music from the main room played through the speakers.

J. Brazil walked in and greeted his wife as she passed out small pieces of his strawberry and pineapple birthday cake. Brazil had already performed that night and could not attend Lollapalooza. “I want to see Lady Gaga but I won’t be there, it’s good to be able to be different and be ok with it,” said Brazil.

Hilton’s party was amazing, from the music to the atmosphere this event definitely kicked off Lollapalooza the right way. “One Night in Chicago” was the hottest party that I have attended this year.
