Since opening November 1, 2003, Groovin High inc. has become a Belmont Ave. must-stop for the serious music collector. The store is owned and operated by Jack Bruce, a long-time record collector and music retail specialist.

ATMOSPHERE
The shop is clean and impeccably organized—a far cry from the new/used record stores that Bruce has tended for 26 years.
CROWD
Groovin High inc. attracts the serious vinyl collector, first and foremost, but music and film fans will also find a fair share of reasonably-priced CDs, DVDs and videos.
ENTERTAIMENT/EVENTS
Nothing is planned at the moment, but check the store’s Web site for possible future in-store events.
PRICES
Bruce prices his vinyl at a little more than the average LP buyer might consider reasonable, but the ideal customer—the serious collector—will be impressed by the condition of almost everything in the racks.
WHY IT’S UNIQUE
With so many independent record stores struggling or going belly-up, Bruce wisely keeps his overhead low and exploits the shop’s excellent location—it’s just a short hike from hip spots like Uncle Fun and Schubas tavern. |
Groovin' High Written by Guest on 2007-10-02 20:19:47 Groovin' High is one of my favorite vinyl record stores and I would highly recommend this store for any record collector looking for that one rare album or the music enthusiast looking and experimenting for a different way of listening to music. Unlike most off-putting clerks and owners in record sales, Jack is one of the nicest guys I've ever done business with and he always exudes the passion he has for this business. | Lp storage Written by Guest on 2009-02-24 16:59:43 this is a great storage cabinet for LPs www.lpbin.com |
