At first glance, this Lincoln Park establishment nestled just steps from the Armitage red line el stop is your typical bar – a few hi-tops, a couple big screens and a long bar full of 20-somethings sipping their favorite domestic beer. But step inside and take a walk around, and you’ll quickly learn that Kincade’s offers a little something for everyone – ranging from big screens playing sports favorites via satellite, to pool tables and karaoke.

ATMOSPHERE

Take your pick of good times at Kincade’s and never get bored. Play social butterfly in the front bar for good conversation and fun tunes piping through the speakers over the crowd, check out the game on the big screens in the main bar, venture to the lower level for karaoke (on Wednesdays), park yourself in the cozy restaurant and grab a bite to eat or unwind after a long day at work on the outdoor patio beer garden.

CROWD

Drawing in a mostly 21-35 year old crowd, you’ll find all sorts of eye candy at Kincade’s. Ladies, keep your eyes peeled for the young business pros out with their buddies after work, preppy guys with their collars popped (and while you’re at it, fix their collars for them), and laid-back fanatics sporting backwards caps from their favorite team. Guys, the gals here are casually dressed to impress and looking for someone to strike up a conversation with. Overall, the crowd is friendly, everyone is out to have a good time and the laughter rings throughout the bar all night.

ENTERTAINMENT / EVENTS

Wednesdays are a hit with Karaoke starting at 9 p.m. and $1 bottles all day. Live DJs spin favorites Thursday through Saturday nights, and other specials throughout the week keep the patrons rolling in. Parties for special events can be booked by calling weekdays between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

SPIRITS

The drink of choice here often depends on the special of the night, ranging from the Wednesday $1 bottles to $2.50 mixed drinks on Tuesdays. The full bar offers 12 beers on tap as well as the typical variety of bottles, a wine list and all the hard liquor you can soak up.

GRUB

Don’t pass up the chance to fill your buzzed food cravings with mini corn dogs, quesadillas or mozzarella sticks, just a few of the appetizer selections. Those looking to chow down for dinner can start off with a chopped salad and enjoy a signature sandwich or wrap, chicken selections or a juicy burger.

PRICES

You won’t break the bank spending an evening at Kincade’s. There’s drink specials every night but Monday, with the $1 bottles on Wednesdays $10 buckets on Thursdays being the best beer deals. Go a little classier and enjoy $5 glasses of wine on Fridays, or go back in time to the days of mixing drinks in the dorms with $4 vodka lemonades on Saturdays. Food prices are affordable with the entire selection of appetizers falling below $7 apiece, aside from the 20 piece jumbo chicken wings – more than enough to share – running you $8.25. Sandwiches, wraps and burgers come with fries and even with a drink will keep your bill under $10.

WHY IT’S UNIQUE

With the entire crowd anxious for a good time and the casual atmosphere welcoming each person that passes through the door, Kincade’s is the city bar to go to if you’re looking for a low pressure night without the hassle of getting all jazzed up for an evening at a club. Friendly staff, inexpensive prices and catchy tunes are the recipe for a good time had by all. Leave before the red line closes for the night and you’re free of needing a designated driver!
