Nick and Jessica are the couple you love to hate. As sick as we all are of hearing Jessica’s “Is this chicken or is this fish?” line from their MTV reality show "Newlyweds," America just can’t seem to resist Hollywood’s favorite cute little rich couple.
Back in the day, Nick made all the teenies swoon as the lead singer of second-tier boy band 98 Degrees – especially when he was shirtless. The fact that he doesn’t automatically call a maid to clean up Jessica’s crap sprawled out all over the house, and that he actually has half a brain – not to mention a darn impressive work ethic – makes him nearly irresistible.
Luckily for Jessica, her fans seem to love her no matter how many times she blunders. She’s proven to be a decent singer (meaning her pipes rank somewhere between Christina Aguilera’s touted vocal ability and queen of lip-synching and last-minute marriages, Mrs. Spears), is undeniably easy on the eyes, and isn’t ashamed to admit she’s far from perfect. Jessica’s sweet and gullible, and her innocent charm appeals to just about anyone. They have ridiculous pet names for one another and it makes viewers want to puke. And yet we still cheer them on because we know, despite tabloid rumors to the contrary, that Nick and Jessica just might make it – something that we’re not used to recognizing in celebrity couplesPowered by AkoComment 2.0! |
