Paris Hilton's song is "Screwed" up Print E-mail

I think my co-worker Lindsay is a genius for noticing the obvious. Paris Hilton’s new song “I’m Screwed” (as painful as it is for me to say this, go to www.itunes.com to purchase this song) is all turned around because if I have to hear that bubble crap one more time, I’m going to be the real person who is screwed.

It’s amazing what people can buy these days – even a record deal.

“Oh Daddy, can you put out an album for me,” she says.

“Sure Princess, anything for you,” he says.

Now, that’s love. But when is the madness going to stop? Honestly, I am pretty sick of all this crap on the radio – in fact so sick that I rarely will even listen to the radio. I know music executives don’t want to hear this, but it’s the fact, my friends.

But, then again, maybe that’s exactly what they want to hear. Maybe they enjoy hearing that a 24-year-old doesn’t listen to them, but his brother’s 17-year-old girlfriend does. Is that the new demographic? What happened to rock 'n' roll?

Speaking of marketing, let’s re-visit the Paris situation. Daddy buys the label, gives daughter deal, has flashy washed-up producer do the song, and then pay radio stations to play this crap. Got it?

Well, and here comes the marketing genius into the picture. So, over the weekend, Paris ended her engagement to Paris Latsis. Hmm, so now her song makes perfect sense. She is screwed on love! The end.

So, congrats to the record company for convincing Paris that another grand (bling, bling $$$) would be in the bank if she could just market her song with a disengagement. Sweet idea! Sweet promotion.

Still, though, the whole music industry is pretty f***ed up to put this crap on the radio. Again, I am the one who is screwed, especially if I hear that song again – and that includes my co-worker Lindsay’s famous rendition.

But, for the record, Paris, even though you can’t sing, I would still let you be my sugar momma. Call me!
