She is a cool, collected party hard core rocker chick. And I dig that. I dig her.
When you read the interview, it is also obvious that she has a sense of humor, which is always a great quality to have when being interviewed by me, cause we all know my questions are extreme and always funny.
That probably made you laugh.
But, seriously, it's pretty freakin' cool that five girls are rockin' out with an incredible album, From the Ground Up, and a great tour. Check them out when they are in Chi-town, I promise you will be more than satisfied. And, if you are lucky, you can party with the girls on Lake Shore Drive afterward. Rock on!
Where you at right now?
I'm at home, packing up, getting ready to come out there.
You're excited to come out here, right?
Always.
Always?
Chicago is one of my favorites. I love Chicago. I love Lake Michigan. I love being on the lake.
Are you going to come hang on the beach?
Yeah, I will probably go chill on the beach. When we were going to L.A., we stopped in Chicago for a few days. And, I had my bike strapped to the trailer, so, I did some riding on the lakefront and even jumped in the lake myself.
Sweet, dude.
I just want to bump into Oprah. (Laughs) That would be my dream.
Good luck on that.
Every time we are in Chicago we put Oprah on our guest list (laughs).
And does she ever show up?
Never. (Laughs)
Are you a big Oprah fan?
I love Oprah. She is the best, man. That lady is the real deal. She is doing some real good stuff for this world. She's the best. I just want her to be my older sister.
See, this is going to be a great conversation because we have still have yet to talk about your music (laughs)
(Laughs) That's good.
We should just pretend that I don't ever write about music and you don't play it.
(Laughs) Yeah, we should just talk about going out.
Where do you live? And can I live with you?
(Laughs) I'm in New York. I live on Long Island.
Soon you will be living in a phat condo downtown.
(Laughs) Oh yeah. In a phat brown stone building. Yeah, real soon.
You will be living next to some hot celebrities.
Yeah, real soon (laughs). No, I'm not like that. I would rather have a shack on the beach and just hang out.
So, what are you doing in New York then? You should be in California or Hawaii.
I know, I know. But, all my friends are in New York and I grew up here.
Well, then that makes sense.
Cause my peeps are important.
How are the guys on the road?
There are a lot of guys who come to see us. We definitely keep our distance when we are working though. Only because we have made mistakes. (Laughs)
We have to get done what we have to get done. It's almost like if you want to find any gossip, it isn't going to be with this band.
(Laughs) That sucks. That's boring.
(Laughs) We are boring (laughs).
Hey, I did hear you hooked up with Steven Tyler.
He was awesome.
Did you hook up with him?
(Laughs) No, I didn't hook up with him. Did you hook up with him? Oh yeah, I hooked up with him.
I think I can quote you on that. You said it.
I meant we played with them on the road, not that we hooked up.
(Laughs) Remember, we're not talking about music on this convo? I didn't even know you were touring with him.
(Laughs) Oh yeah.
Naw, I'm just playin'. What was it like playing with him?
He was incredible. The whole group is great. Their entire vibe is the real thing. They are out there doing it cause they love it. They are incredible. They are probably the only group who has survived through the years the way they did. He was a doll. It was a freakin' high for a week.
So, flashback five years ago. Did you think you would be playing with him?
I know that my visual was always that we would be playing in arenas. So, five years ago, we hoped it would happen sooner. It has always been our dream, you know, and dreams are powerful things, and if you really believe it and live it, then they are what you create. Making music makes us happy. We love to make music and our goal on the road was to make our business work.
What's the dream now? Obviously you have to up the bar since you are achieving everything.
(Laughs) Geez, I know. It's crazy. What's the dream now? I think the dream is still sort of the same. I still haven't played Madison Square Garden, so we still have a ways to go. We are out there to show the world that success can come from women too (laughs).
Where are you going to go party in Chicago?
We are going to go party at. Well, I don't know.
Come on.
(Laughs)
I want to party with you.
(Laughs) We always stay off of Lake Michigan, but I can't remember where. That street with Michigan on it.
Michigan Avenue?
No. No.
No, like the street with a lake in it.
Lake Shore Drive?
Yes, that's it (laughs).
So, everyone who reads this, find the hot girls on Lake Shore Drive when they are in town.
(Laughs) Yeah, that's where we will be.
And I am included in the we (laughs).
