The White Sox are finally the favorite in a playoff series: At home in the American League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. All the media could talk about the past 24 hours was how tired the Angels would be having flown from New York to Los Angeles to Chicago and played three games in three days. The Angels were supposed to be tired and an easy win for the White Sox.

All these little things without a doubt cost the game, because the final score was just 3-2.Still, the White Sox have a good shot if they continue to play with an underdog mentality. The Angels ace, Bartolo Colon, is inactive for the series with shoulder pain. The Angels other starting pitchers are beat up as well: Paul Byrd pitched game 1 on only three days' rest; game 2 pitcher Jarrod Washburn is battling strep throat; rookie Ervin Santana can't pitch until Friday, and that would be on three days' rest. The table couldn't be set better for the White Sox. But if they think they SHOULD win the series, they're doomed. They have to continue to play as the challenger. And, in fact, they are. They haven't even been to the World Series since 1959. The Angels won it in 2002.
