| | | Starting pitcher Freddy Garcia completed the third straight game for the White Sox, while Paul Konerko hit his second straight first-inning home run to give the Sox a second straight 3-0 first inning lead.
And again, those were all the runs the White Sox would need to put away the Angels and take a 3-1 game lead in the American League Championship Series.
While the series isn't over, the Angels are showing little fight at this point, and really miss ace starting pitcher Bartolo Colon. On Sunday night the Sox will attempt to end the series with Jose Contreras starting against Paul Byrd. Even if the White Sox lose, they have two chances to win the series back in Chicago, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The White Sox are now one win away from the World Series. They haven't been there since 1959, almost 50 years. They haven't won the World Series since 1917.
