This ain’t yo’ mama’s bar. In fact, do not ever take your mama there, that is, unless you want to see her shakin’ it on the bar, DJ booth, and mammoth dance floor. Bar Chicago is ALL party and what a party it is.

ATMOSPHERE
It seems the formula for success at Bar Chicago is Open Space + Cheap Drinks + Hot Bodies. Well that works for me and just about every other “college aged” guy out there. Seriously, there is no other bar that you will find that is more college than this place. They have managed to take all the good parts from your favorite college town bars and mix them together. Black seems to be the color motif, but pay special attention to signage around the place and the bathroom décor is of special mention too. Once the place is filled up though, you won’t be able to notice much more than the sea of people spilling into the bar and the hot booty in front of you, to the left, to the right, above, below, and behind you.
CROWD
College Bar. College Boys. College Girls. Notice a trend? Bar Chicago attracts a very young and trendy group. A group looking to drink and boy do they drink. Seriously, it has been a while since I have seen guys treating their pitchers like beer mugs. Hot, young, and drunk seems to be the motif.
ENTERTAINMENT / EVENTS
There is a DJ every night, but Thursday’s College Night seems to be the time to be entertained, from celebrity guests to midget wrestling, there is always something going on at Bar Chicago. Make sure to check their website for drink specials and no cover specials before you go.
SPIRITS
Got Beer? Bar Chicago does, and lots of it. “Kegs, Multiple, cold, domestic.” They have also got pitchers of long islands and Cherry Bomb Shots. Enjoy the freebies from the bartenders who enjoy pouring a shot or four into your mouth from atop the bar. Do not expect a fancy martini, who drinks a martini in college anyway?
GRUB
Are you kidding me? No room here for a kitchen. Check out one of the Neighborhood eateries before or after, but don’t expect anything other than eye-candy here.
PRICES
Very, Very Reasonable. $3 dollar pitchers of MGD or Lite on Thursdays, $5 Cherry Bomb Shots and a host of other rotating drink specials. Cover can cost you $10 but can be avoided by going early, winning a party, or bringing in a flyer.
WHY IT'S UNIQUE
It is like you are in college town USA all over again, but your 5 minutes out of downtown Chicago. Simply Brilliant. Bar Chicago knows what to do and they do it right. “Party and they will come” could be their mantra and party they do, until four or five A.M.
