If NFL football is the coolest sport in America, then Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is the coolest player. Manning doesn't break out a Sharpie or cell phone every time he throws a touchdown pass. If he did, he'd run out of minutes and ink halfway through his football season.
Instead, Manning is humble and happy, and lets his numbers do the talking. Manning, the son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and brother of Giants quarterback Eli Manning, is the positive poster boy for the NFL. His hair is primped, his work ethic is classic. He's the all-American blond-haired high school quarter who has made it to the big time. While he’s still in pursuit of his first Super Bowl, he's achieved some of the greatest individual records possible – the biggest being his 49 touchdown passes in 2004. That eclipsed the mark of 48 set by Dan Marino in 1984, a record that many thought was unbreakable. It's not necessary to be a jerk or a whiner to be cool. Terrell Owens and Randy Moss, take a seat. Peyton Manning proves that being good, clean and happy is the true cool. Powered by AkoComment 2.0! |
