If you are anything like me, you have an urge to feel rich. You know, that urge to feel wealthy while not spending too much money. Thanks to Wildfire, you can feel and taste rich foods for a reasonable cost, that is, unless you help the staff un-cork a bottle of wine.

The atmosphere is very stylish, while providing an old school gangster sort of feel. The lights are dimmed and dark colors keep the light to a minimum, shining on just you and your company at the table – a romantic setting for a romantic date.

If I am going to pay $20 for a meal, I better make it good, so I decided to go all out and order a New York Strip Steak with a side of broccoli and a shrimp cabob. Simply yum! My date picked the stuffed salmon, which she declared "absolutely delicious."

Alcohol options were very good as well. The wine list is very complete, and the hard alcohol options are solid. A glass of wine can go perfectly with pretty much every meal, so if you are willing to dish out a few extra dollars, then go for the wine with the steak or seafood.

Make sure to save a little room for dessert, because that’s the best part. When you walk in, make a point to walk past the dessert cart, it will convince you to save room. It includes about 100 (OK, I’m being a little facetious) options.

One thing that I highly recommend is making reservations early. Luckily for you, since you are already an Internet user, you can click here and make your reservation online through Open Table. A bonus of using this service is you earn frequent reservation points, which lead to free gift certificates to the restaurants on the Open Table Web site. This was definitely easier than calling and setting up a time.

So, if you are in the mood to look like a big spender, or you are out to convince a date that, yes, you actually have style, then check out either the Schaumburg or Chicago locations of Wildfire. I promise it will be worth your while.
