The second you walk in the door, you feel as if you have been transported into a tropical paradise.

Bahama Breeze

It is almost as if you have left the bitter cold of the Windy City for the warm breeze of the Bahamas. Ah, how nice it is to feel as if you are on vacation during a lunch break or a relaxing diner.

When you enter the restaurant, you are welcomed by a hostess dressed in shorts, giving you the full feel of a resort. To the right of you is a huge bar, in front of you is a wonderfully comfortable eating setting, and when weather permits, to the left of you is an entrance to the outdoor area where various live musicians and DJs control the stage, offering soothing music to even further the mood.

I have been to two Bahama Breezes and have had the same experience at each - a very pleasant, entertaining night, stuffed with great food and spirits.

The wood-fired pizzas are mouthwatering pleasures. My favorite is the Margherita, which includes sliced vine-ripened Roma tomatoes, Parmesan, mozzarella and fresh basil. The Jerk Chicken pizza is also wonderful, with its red onions, mozzarella and fresh thyme.

If you want to try some other Bahama Breeze specialities, delve into the pasta section of the menu, and prepare to be overwhelmed with the tasteful options. Of course, the Jerk Chicken Pasta with fresh asparagus, mushrooms and herb cream sause, is the most traditional for the style of cooking. If you want something even a little more edgy, try the Pan-Seared Salmon Pasta, covered in passion fruit-thyme cream sauce, with sugar snap peas, tomatoes and mushrooms.

I am also a huge fan of the tropical drink specials along with the awesome beer brewed specially by Budweiser for Bahama Breeze. And, be sure to ask your server what the beer specials are.

So if you are in the mood for a quick, easy getaway, then head to Schaumburg for a delicious night of vacation bliss.
