"Saturday Night Live's" Tina Fey is the coolest woman in comedy. Long a profession where men dominate, Fey excelled in Chicago's Second City and was discovered there by "SNL" producer Lorne Michaels. Fey's writing was the rage on "SNL," and she soon became the show's first female head writer.
The 34-year-old made her on-screen debut as co-anchor with Jimmy Fallon on "Weekend Update," and most fans agree the team was one of the best ever. (Fallon has since left).
Fey broke into movies by acting in and writing the screenplay for "Mean Girls" starring Lindsay Lohan. Her teacher character oozed sarcasm and laughs but with a grounded sense that made her real. The movie quickly became a smash and made Fey one of the most wanted women on the silver screen as well as the small screen.
Fey appeals to everyone because she is at the same time beautiful and nerdy, witty and vulnerable. She is young and already ruling comedy. She's no Ellen DeGeneres or Rosie O'Donnell. This is the new face of the comedienne. Powered by AkoComment 2.0! |
