You have a country that is clearly divided. Forty-eight percent of Americans hate you, and 51 percent love you (possible) or just don’t mind you so much (probable). Your job, as President, is to unite America. Bring us back to the days of the 90-percent approval rating. Bring us back to the days and weeks following the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center. But this time, when you unite us, make it based on something good, not an attack on our home soil.
Listen to your fellow Americans. Try to be a President for all, rather than a President for just Republicans. I know you can do it. I believe in you.
I, however, did not vote for you. I felt that you did not do a superb job during your first term – but, I don’t think you did a terrible job.
Specifically, I think the war on Iraq lost you respect. But you, and you only, can clean up the mess and present a solution to any problems that exist.
I don’t expect you to stand in front of a mic and tell America that you were wrong and state that there were, in fact, no weapons of mass destruction buried beneath the sand. With positive actions, you can show America a solution to any mistakes that were made.
You are the President, and I support you because my fellow Americans voted, in majority, for you. With that, I think all my fellow Americans who are heartbroken that you won should get over themselves. It’s over.
George Bush is the President, not John Kerry. Support him. Give him the benefit of the doubt that good will result from his tenure these next four years.
Don’t hate him, because your hate makes you just as self-absorbed as you think he is.
Sure, I would have rather had John Kerry for the next four years, but it didn’t work out. Pouting does no good.
So, President George W. Bush, I stand up and salute you, and you can most certainly expect my support for the next four years – that is, as long as you continue to do your best as my President of the United States of America. Keep it beautiful.
